I'm incredibly envious of the librarians who get to meet you (and pick up some swag!?) at the School Library Conferences, I wish I'd know about it! I will definitely be trying to keep a better eye on opportunities like this.
Devastating to see the extend of the damage in the southeast right now. Sending what I can to help out. ❤
It's definitely been a bit hard to go about daily life when knowing the unimaginable situation up in the mountains. I donated what I could...
Thanks for still writing this! Gives a little normalcy. I wish I could meet you! I went to a signing of one of your books years ago at the Regulator in Durham but I was too much of a moody teenager to walk up to you. Maybe one day :)
As a librarian, author visits were the highlight of School Library Conferences!! There is nothing more magical than recommending a book to a kid and saying, “I got to meet her two years ago!” Their eyes LIGHT UP, and they always take the book to read. From librarians everywhere, we love authors! We love recommending your books! We love you!!
Sending all the good vibes and calming moments as you embark on this step! And congrats on your new card! 🎉🎉🎉
You have Colby stickers?? I LOVE Colby! I understand it's based perhaps in part on Emerald Isle? I was just there last week, one of my favorite places in the world. Wish I could have traveled to Greensboro to meet you. I'm with Renee --- I'm also envious of those librarians! Also, yes, the devastation in Asheville is stunning. We were living there in 2004 when hurricane Frances came inland, dumped rain, and flooded the rivers. Biltmore Village flooded then, too, but it was NOTHING like this! Thanks for your post with links to aid/donations.
The devastation in North Carolina has felt unreal. The before and after images being shared are just so heartbreaking. I live in one of the small towns in Georgia that received a direct hit and it’s been an absolute nightmare, to say the least.
It felt nice to read a Friday Five and to be given a few moments reprieve from my current reality. Thank you!
I was not expecting the chemistry between Adam Brody and Kristen bell to be so on fire but man! It was off the charts! I breezed through the show in one night! I can’t wait for more episodes.
I wish I could meet you at these conferences. I’m just anxiously waiting for your next book to devour and hopefully see you on a book tour.
"When in doubt, go to the library."

Prayers to those living with such destruction.
Sending prayers, thoughts, and every penny I can spare along with you, Sarah. 💖
