If it helps, sharing the process doesn’t make you seem less confident. You are strength incarnate.
You don’t owe us anything, but I would seriously rather read any of your unpublished, unedited, books (as-is) than anything else on my shelf. Instead of that inducing pressure, remember that whatever you do is good enough no matter where it ends up
Big congrats to you!! I so appreciate and enjoy you sharing your process. I hope it makes you feel a little less alone and as someone who is working on writing something, it is TOTALLY inspiring that your favorite author struggles just like every other human. So much of the writing process is hidden to the world and I'm so thankful to you for sharing all the ups and the downs.
Yay, congratulations!!! Whether it ends up in our hands or not, finishing this book is still a major feat and you should be proud of yourself! I follow a handful of authors on social media and can confirm that you are not the only one who struggles. I think it's great when people share their struggles because most of us are going through something and it helps to know we're not alone. And you know what? The days are getting longer and springtime is on the horizon, we've got this!!
Congratulations on finishing the draft! No matter the outcome after this, it is a huge accomplishment to have gotten here. Even just showing up each day to write what you can that day is a huge achievement. Make sure to celebrate! And thanks for sharing.
I’m so grateful to you for being open with the struggles of the writing process. I’ve been such a devoted read of you work since I was one of the young teens you describe in your books and have every original print. I can honestly say that the experience of reading your novels would be so much different if you weren’t such an open and forthcoming author. It changes my perspective and makes me more thoughtful. It’s that time of year again to reread some SD! It’s my birthday month and it wouldn’t be complete with out it. Could you make my day by suggesting which book to start with ?
We need more humanity, creating perfect appearances has never seemed to help anyone. If anything it's made us all feel a bit smaller or less than. Thank you for sharing!
I love hearing your writing journey! I'm so glad you've shared it with us. Congratulations on finishing your first draft! Fingers crossed it makes it to our shelves 😊❤️
I know crows have a bad rep for being scary, but they’re really smart and loyal! They might not be nice to the other animals…but at least they have your back!
I'm so happy you're finished!! It was hard seeing you so stressed about it, but it was also kinda a relief to see my longest favorite author struggling with something I've struggled with too. Writing is hard! I look forward to hearing how the sorry progresses after you've had time to rest 😊
Sarah!! It definitely helps to hear this! I am a creative person and I can vouch at how hard it is to complete a project no matter what it is there is almost always a struggle. But I also believe that that struggle, at least partially, helps me cherish the final product even more. For me, hearing your struggle and survival and process and relating to it is only endearing your new book to me and making me more excited for it. It also makes me appreciate all your others more and more knowing how much went into creating them!
Yay, to finishing the first draft of your book! I like long stories and believe it'll be a good novel. One in which we your readers will someday get to enjoy. I appreciate your honesty with this whole process. It's reality and the journey is almost never linear. Here's to some relaxing time off.

Agreed! I would die to have the unpublished books or anything else she's written, no matter what it is!

I appreciate you sharing your struggles and your writing process! I’m sure it helps a lot of young writers know it’s okay to struggle as well.
I’m also obsessed with feeding birds at my feeders and got a pair of Orioles to visit this winter.
I love hearing about your process. As a longtime reader, it's amazing to see how it all comes together!

Congratulations!
I, for one, am grateful that you're sharing your fears and anxieties. It's always good to know the people I look up to are human too <3
