Pacey Witter will speak to you. He is the kind of excellent but complicated teenage boy you do very well. <3

I was thinking the same! Dawson is too much, but Pacey is something special.

This is very unrelated to your Friday five this week, I’ve been thinking about a book you read and shared several years back around 2017. But I can never remember the exact name of the title. I know it’s something along the lines of “Bunny Bunny”? The title had the word bunny it I do remember that. The story was about grief from the pov of a pre-teen character and a newly widowed dad? Does this ring any bells by chance? It’s a long shot and probably a needle in a haystack but I’d thought I’d ask.

A few other musical movie recommendations:

-Tick, Tick, Boom (Netflix) It has Andrew Garfield in the role of Jonathan Larson, the writer of Rent. It tells the story of Jonathan Larson's life before his death. The songs are amazing, as well as the story. Also stars Joshua Henry, Vanessa Hudgens, Ben Ross, and other notable theater people.

-Newsies (Disney +) There are two versions, a 1951 one and a pro shot of the tour cast of Newsies that was released in 2016. It stars Jeremy Jordan, Kara Lindsay, Andrew Keenan-Bolger, among others. Tells the story of the newsboy strike. The dancing and the songs add to the story.

-Matilda the Musical (Netflix), Waitress: The Musical (Max-Released on Valentine's Day 2025!!), Hamilton (Disney +)

The ministry of time was such a wonderful read!! The book I read after that (well, listened to) was the midnight library—definitely recommend if you haven’t already read it! (And sry if I’ve missed the memo that you have!!)

A great and under appreciated musical film is The Last Five Years. Has Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan. It tells the story of a five year relationship with them alternating songs. It opens with the women singing about the end of the relationship and then goes to the guy telling about the beginning of the relationship. To me it is such a nuanced look at how relationships can fall apart.

Absolutely love the idea of a floating sign over my head that says "I'M HAVING TROUBLE" that deters people from engaging with me. 😂 Also, you are definitely not the only one who holds a book to their chest and happy sighs when they finish, and I'm in love with the guy brushing his teeth enthusiastically while behind the wheel of his car in the grocery store parking lot lol.
